Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth - Best way to pressure enemies

To know how to pressure an enemy in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you only need to cast Assess and read the yellow highlighted text on the left side. Let's have Phoenix below as an example. It's a creature that can be pressured by interrupting its Empowering Flame attack.

Every enemy is pressured differently. Sometimes, it's as simple as hitting its weakness. Sometimes, you may need timed dodges or specific Magic like Bio.

Pressure is an intense attack string that aims for a Stagger status change, which throws enemies off balance. Bigger enemies might lose parts of their armor, and all enemies get staggered and off-balanced.

When the enemy enters the "Pressured" status, you will see it above its stagger gauge. That means the enemy is off balance and more vulnerable, and its stagger gauge fills out faster. You can see how close the enemy is to being staggered if you notice the yellow bar beneath the enemy's health bar.

How to stagger enemies in the FF7 Rebirth

Stagger is a status effect that makes enemies vulnerable and open to damaging blows. The Stagger mechanic doesn't last very long, so you better use that time to unleash your strongest attacks and deal plenty of hurt. The stagger gauge usually fills out slowly, but some enemies quickly get into their stagger stage when hit with something they're weak against.
