World of Warcraft continues to be a very popular MMORPG (massive multiplayer online roleplaying game). Over the years, it has amassed many players, including celebrities such as Mila Kunis! So, how many people still play the expansive online game?

Monthly numbers for how many players have participated in a session goes up and down. However, as of late, it has been averaging between 5 and 6 million players per month. Which means that you will still find many people online at any given time.

The game's player base has dwindled in recent years, though, and with more games of a similar kind rising in popularity, there is more competition than there was even five years ago.

The recent Blizzard scandal will not have helped matters either, as several players will no doubt have boycotted the game to protest the treatment of employees at the studio and the misconduct that took place.

Whether the game will have an uptake of players again due to the recent acquisition of Blizzard by Microsoft remains to be seen, but for now, it is still fairing well even if it may not be at the top of the gaming food chain like it once was.
