You can use the binoculars in Dying Light 2 to mark landmarks and points of interest. Your controller will vibrate when you are close, and you will see a focus box. The box shrinks as you get closer to the landmark or point of interest. Once you get the focus spot right, the landmark or point of interest will be marked on your map.

This is helpful for finding places to check out and explore. It can also help you find key locations. So climb up to a high point, whip out your binoculars, and find those landmarks and points of interest!
