Final Fantasy XIV continuously updates their game to keep things fresh and exciting for players, and their upcoming patch, 6.1, has been anticipated by regular players for some time. Square Enix finally lets players know when they can try out this new content for themselves in their most recent live stream.
On April 1, Square Enix announced the release date for the latest patch in Final Fantasy XIV during their Letter from the Producer Live stream. While the update was initially scheduled for release late in April, the team revealed that Patch 6.1: Newfound Adventure would launch on Tuesday, April 12.

The Newfound adventure patch will introduce new story content for Final Fantasy XIV, new sidequests, adjustments to jobs, and new Role quests for players to take part in. This update also includes the highly requested housing lottery system and a new housing district—Empyreum.
