How to run faster in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Run faster!

Disney Dreamlight Valley features a large map with lots to do in every area. Sometimes it can feel like you can't run fast enough, and without the ability to sprint, you can always feel stuck going at the same pace. There is one way to speed up your character, though. To boost your character's speed, you must get the Well Fed status, which you can get by increasing your energy bar.

How to increase energy in Disney Dreamlight Valley

To increase your energy, you need to eat food. Each action, like mining, gathering, digging, etc., decreases your energy, which can only be regained by returning home, sitting down on a bench or chair, or eating food. Once your blue energy bar is full, you can fill it again with a second, yellow bar by eating dishes made at the stove. Normal items like apples, fish, or other scavenged foods do not increase the second energy meter.

As long as you have some portion of this yellow bar filled, you will get the Well Fed status. Your character will move and perform actions faster while under the effects of Well Fed.

The status will last as long as you do not perform any actions, so it can be a great way to increase speed while completing quests or exploring areas. The best way to keep your speed up is to have cooked food ready to eat from your inventory.

You can also use the glide or hover function to move even faster around Dreamlight Valley. Simply use the Shift button on PC or B on Xbox and Switch while being Well Fed to expend energy and zoom around the map. This will deplete your stamina so be sure to have more cooked meals on hand.

Are there other benefits to being Well Fed in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

There are! As of Update 4, being Well Fed will allow you to channel your magic and glide around the Valley. While Well Fed, you'll also have higher chances to to gain more items for each gathering activity that you perform—mining, harvesting crops, foraging, ect. Better get those Berry Salads ready!
