How to reach the penthouse without killing or triggering the alarm – MW2 Campaign Guide

Players can unlock up to 24 different achievement trophies while playing the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign. In the El Sin Nombre chapter, you can earn the Ghost-in-Training achievement by reaching the third floor without alerting or killing anyone. It may take a couple of tries, but here's how you can get this trophy.

After your interrogation with Valeria, you will be taken to the ground floor, where Alejandro meets you and hands you a knife. From there, head inside the bar directly in front of you and pick up glass bottles. Glass bottles are key to this mission as you'll need them to distract enemies and move around without getting spotted. You can carry two bottles at a time, and they are present everywhere in the building, so keep an eye out.

Now scout the building until you find the staircase blocked by a guard, as shown in the image above. Once you approach this room, the guard will leave the area. Go up the stairs quickly before the other guard arrives. Now that you're past the stairs and on the second floor, you'll see a guard on the balcony (see image). Throw a glass bottle in front of him, but slightly far, to distract him.

As he leaves, hop off the balcony onto the ledge and look for a ladder to your left. This will lead you to the roof secured by three guards. Now you must make your way through them to the penthouse at the other end of the roof, patiently and quietly. While two guards are easy to distract, the third guard wearing a tank top will never move.

Approach the position shown in the image above and throw a glass bottle to his right to make him look that way. You'll find bottles on the roof as well. Once he's distracted, take cover behind the counter marked by the arrow. Stealthily make your way to the ladder behind the penthouse.

Meet Alejandro on the rooftop and head to the elevator shaft, as shown by the arrow. Once inside, operate the elevator using the controls. First, bring it down and use the brakes to stop once the entrance to the third floor is clear. Now open the emergency lock and enter the third floor to continue the mission and successfully unlock the Ghost-in-Training Trophy in the Modern Warfare 2 Campaign.
