Final Fantasy XIV has suspended housing demolition across all servers following the earthquake in Turkey and Syria on February 6. The suspension was announced February 9 on the official Lodestone website and posted across social media.
From February 9, 2023, 9:25am PT, automatic housing demolition will be disabled. Usually, if an estate or Free Company leader hasn’t entered their lot within 45 days, the estate on that lot is demolished and returned to the pool. However, in exceptional circumstances, automatic housing demolition has been disabled.

For example, it was suspended in the wake of the Covid 19 epidemic on December 5, 2021, and continued as the invasion of Ukraine took place in 2022. Ironically, automatic housing demolition had only returned for just a single month. It was turned back on in January 2023 with the release of Patch 6.3.
Now, houses are safe, and demolition isn’t active. Square Enix hasn’t given a date that housing demolition will return, but given their overabundance of caution last time, don’t expect it for a few months at least. What was originally expected to be a several-month hiatus in 2021 turned into almost a full year of no demolition.
