Final Fantasy XVI is Square Enix's latest entry in the Final Fantasy series. It takes place in the world of Valisthea and features a brand-new story for fans to enjoy. Many questions surround the title, including who the main character is. This has led fans to wonder who the lead character is in Final Fantasy XVI.
Who is the protagonist of Final Fantasy XVI?
The main character and protagonist of Final Fantasy XVI is Clive Rosfield, who begins the story at 15 years old. He is the eldest son of Rosaria's ruling family; however, he is passed over in favor of his younger brother, Joshua. Joshua Rosfield is chosen as heir of Rosaria and becomes Dominant of Phoenix, Rosaria's Eikon.

Though Joshua is the Dominant and not Clive, the younger brother shares the power of the Phoenix Eikon with his older brother. As a result, Clive can use the power of this Eikon but can gather other Eikons as well. After being passed over for succession, Clive becomes Joshua's bodyguard.
The events of Final Fantasy XVI follow Clive on a revenge quest, and Clive meets other characters on his journey. This includes royalty of various nations and others, as well as his wolf companion Torgal. We don't know much more about Clive and the story of Final Fantasy XVI, but we are sure Square Enix will deliver a delightful adventure.
