The Final Fantasy series is one of the most iconic JRPG series and features numerous entries. One thing that makes the series stand out is its party system and its focus on the interconnected stories of party members. With many characters known in Final Fantasy XVI, some players may be wondering if there is a party system in Final Fantasy XVI.
Is there a party system in Final Fantasy 16?
Final Fantasy XVI does have a party system, but it may be different than you are used to. The story revolves around Clive, but he is not alone. Yoshida confirmed that other companions would join Clive; however, it seems players will not have a large cast of characters at once. This means the party will be smaller and primarily focus on Clive.

Final Fantasy XVI features a reduced party system, which will vary depending on where you are in the game. Characters will come and go, joining your party as needed and leaving when not. We know several characters, including Clive's dog Torgal, but we do not know which will officially join the party and how long they will be present.
It should be noted that players will only control Clive. The AI will control the other party members in combat and assist Clive independently. This allows the player to focus on Clive and master his combat abilities.
