How to get all Scholar Licenses in Octopath Traveler 2

For your Scholarly needs!

Scholar is, admittedly, one of the best jobs in Octopath Traveler 2—especially if you’re looking to build more than one AoE damage dealer. However, to obtain more than the first Scholar License, you have to do a couple of fetch quests for the Scholar Guild. Here’s how to obtain the two other Scholar Licenses in Octopath Traveler 2.

Ancient Sentinel Cores can be obtained from Sentinels (no matter their element). The Roque Company Factory in Clockbank (where you complete Partitio’s Chapter two) is the fastest way to find these things. If you’re too overleveled for the area, bring a Hunter who knows Mercy Kill with you and a Thief. Mercy Kill will reduce the enemy’s HP to one instead of a lethal shot, and Thieves can steal the item after.

Note that there will always be a chance for these monsters to drop the Ancient Sentinel Core, albeit low. It just so happens that Steal guarantees that you get it.

To find Almighty Soulstones, travel to Western Winterbloom Snows or Southern Stormhail Snows and look for the Ice Elementals in the area (the gigantic pillars of sparkling ice). Use the same Mercy Kill/Steal combo above to snag them. Any Elemental in the game can drop an Almighty Soulstone, don’t get us wrong, but these Ice Elementals frequent the area we’ve written in above.

Once you get five pieces of Ancient Sentinel Cores and Almighty Soulstones, go back to the Scholar Guild and purchase those Licenses. Good work!
