Currently, there are four mounts in Minecraft Legends, with the game giving you one from the very start. It's basic though, so if you're looking to glide, soar, climb, or run faster, you'll want to upgrade your ride as soon as possible.

The Brilliant Beetle is our top pick for the best mount in Minecraft Legends. Not only can it glide as Big Beak can, but it also scales walls, making hard-to-reach places an absolute breeze.

To unlock the Brilliant Beetle mount in Minecraft Legends, head over to the Jungle biome in the southeast section of the Overworld map. As you enter the biome, you'll see a yellow question mark on your compass, leading you to the Brilliant Beetle mount site. You'll know you're at the right spot when you see some beetles crawling over grassy rock.

Simply interact with one of the Brilliant Beetles, and you'll receive an in-game message informing you that "You've unlocked the Brilliant Beetle," and your character will automatically begin riding it.

To unlock the Big Beak mount in Minecraft Legends, go to the Jagged Peak biome in the northern section of the map. If you're struggling to locate it, head east from the Swamp Village until you see a yellow question mark on your compass. Follow it, and it'll lead you to the rainbow-colored birds that are incredibly easy to spot. Interact with one of the Big Beaks here to unlock it as a mount.

Is Big Beak worth it in Minecraft Legends?

The Big Beak mount allows you to glide across the map, covering large distances faster by soaring over heavy terrains like rivers and hills. It's also useful for getting down from high places quickly without falling and taking damage.

Brilliant Beetle also does this and wall-climbing, so you may not find yourself reaching for Big Beak much if you have the other unlocked.

To find the Regal Tiger, go to the Dry Savannah biome southwest of the Overworld. Look for a yellow question mark on your compass and follow it until you reach some cat tree-like rocks with big purple cats: these are the Regal Tigers.

Like the other mounts, walk up to one and interact with it to unlock the Regal Tiger mount.

Is Regal Tiger worth it in Minecraft Legends?

The Regal Tiger doesn't have any special abilities other than the fact it runs faster than the other mounts. So if you want to race around the map, it's a decent pick. But you can cover a lot of ground quickly with the Brilliant Beetle and Big Beak mounts, so YMMV (your mileage may vary).

How to get Horse mount in Minecraft Legends

The Horse is the starting mount in Minecraft Legends, meaning that as soon as you're able to explore the Overworld, you unlock the ability to ride on its back.

Is the Horse mount worth it in Minecraft Legends?

Personally, we'd recommend one of the other mounts over the Horse purely based on speed and maneuverability. It does have unlimited sprint, though, so it is decent until you can unlock another mount. It's just not particularly useful for exploring, especially when compared to Brilliant Beetle or Big Beak.
