Halls of Torment Archer Build Guide

Let your arrows fly with confidence.

Halls of Torment's Vampire Survivors-like gameplay, roguelike aesthetics, and original Diablo-inspired graphics caught my eye. While I was thrilled to jump into the game, I quickly realized Halls of Torment was quite challenging. This required me to create a strong build, particularly when using the Archer, the first character to be unlocked.

Best Archer Build in Halls of Torment

The Archer is one of my favorite characters, mainly due to their mobility and the fact that they use a bow, one of my favorite weapons. As such, I played this class more often and found a strong build. Here is my recommendation for the best Archer build in Halls of Torment.

Best Upgrades for Archer - Halls of Torment

The Archer is a fast character with low health, defense, and starting damage. However, the Archer does have a good starting Critical Hit Chance. I recommend increasing Movement Speed, Critical Hit Chance, Critical Hit Bonus, and Attack Damage. This will allow you to do increasingly more damage and stay agile.

Having a high movement speed is crucial, as the Archer's defense is abysmal. So instead of focusing on negating damage, you should focus on avoiding it. High movement speed lets you weave in and out of enemy swarms, which becomes incredibly important later on.

Best Abilities for Archer - Halls of Torment

At the start, your ability selection is fairly limited, but I noticed a handful of abilities worked better for me. The Astronomer's Orbs were a constant boon, floating around me and dealing damage to numerous enemies. Following that, Lightning Strike was a good source of damage and stunned enemies, allowing me more mobility. Finally, the Phantom Needles fired off in random directions, striking enemies while I focused them down with my bow.

Best Items for Archer - Halls of Torment

When it comes to selecting the best items for the Archer, I focused on items that increased the stats above. Early on, I used the Runner Shoes, Quickhand Gloes, and Wind Crown. These improved the base stats, such as Attack Speed and Movement Speed, further improving what I focused on with this build.

Later on, the Firewalker Boots, Ruby Circlet, and Ring of Fire became my favorite equipment. These items allowed me to focus on dealing maximum damage and inflicting lingering damage through burns. They also stack well with one another, making them effective when put together.
