Foamstars Open Beta dates

If you're somebody who wants to see what the game has to offer, you're able to do so from September 29 to October 1. The 4v4 shooter has drawn a lot of comparisons to Nintendo's Splatoon series, so it'll be interesting to see the ways the game differs with its gameplay.

It's all about using foam to build up terrain to then slip and slide around on. You're able to create distinct vantage points to get the drop on opponents, so having a bit of creativity will go a long way to being successful here.

How to sign up for the Foamstars Open Beta

Although the game is releasing on both PS4 and PS5, the PS5 was the only platform named in the Open Beta trailer. There isn't anything you have to sign up for, so you should be able to just download it from the PSN Store when it's ready.

The game is launching with eight total characters, and they all have a distinct play type. Every character uses a different gun and has a different skill set. In that sense, it's more of a mix between Overwatch and Splatoon, where the characters all have different playstyles. You'll want to try out as many as you can to see if you take a liking to a certain one. There are two different game modes at launch—Smash the Star and Happy Bath Survival.
