Like workbenches, forges are required to make items, and you will need to make one to craft all bronze and iron tier tools, weapons, and armor. That said, here is everything you will need and more.
How to make a forge in Valheim
To build a forge, you will need the following resources; along with this, you will need to mine copper to unlock the recipe to make a forge
- Four Stone: You can get stone from the ground and rocks in the game.
- Four Coal: Coal can be harvested from either a charcoal kiln or from burning meat.
- Ten Wood: You can get wood from chopping various trees down in the game.
- Six copper: You can find copper in large veins in the black forest.
Once you get all of the materials listed above, you will be able to make a forge with a hammer; you will also need to place it near a workbench or in its build circle. To build a forge with a hammer, right-click on the hammer while it is in your hotbar and then select the crafting menu.
Inside the menu, you can find the forge and all you need to do is left-click it and then move it over to the location you want to place it in and then left-click again.
After you place a forge, you will unlock many crafting items like bronze tools, swords, and armor; along with this, you will also unlock several forge upgrades. Here are all forge upgrades you will need to fully upgrade your forge.
- Forge Cooler
- Anvils
- Smith's Anvil
- Forge Bellows
- Forge Toolrack
- Grinding Wheel
