I'm a fan of challenging combat, but boss battles in Baldur's Gate 3 became too easy for me. But, those encounters became much harsher with Honour Mode Legendary Actions in Baldur's Gate 3.
BG3 All boss fight differences in Honour Mode - Legendary Actions
The Honour Mode adds Legendary Actions to bosses, which gives them an additional special ability per round. You will need the best Honour Mode builds to win these fights. Below is a list of all boss fight differences in Baldur's Gate 3 Honour Mode.
Act 1 Bosses Legendary Actions in Baldur's Gate 3

Owlbear | Call Consort | The Owlbear's Legendary action is to spawn her mate with the same stat block. |
Dror Ragzlin | Devoted Galvanism | Every round, Dror Ragzlin can use a Legendary Action to galvanize Absolutists within 5 meters and reward them Action Surge when an enemy uses an ability to target their ally. |
Phase Spider Matriarch | Gossamer Tomb | When somebody drops a spell or cantrip on Ethel. |
Bernard | Leaping Static | Grym's hammer spawns many mephits and gets 10 temporary hit points each round. Breaking this additional HP causes thunder damage and shoves the units back. This action also speeds up Grym. |
Ethel | Weird Magic Surge | When he gets hit with a melee attack, Nere casts the physical damage immunity for three turns on himself. Everyone who hits Nere with physical or magic damage will take AoE psych damage. |
Nere | Psionic Visage | When he gets hit with a melee attack, Nere casts the physical damage immunity for three turns on himself. Everyone who hits Nere with physical or magic damage will take AoE psych damage. |
Grym | Adamantine Reverberation | Grym's hammer spawns many mephits, and gets 10 temporary hit points each round. Breaking this additional HP causes thunder damage and shoves the units back. This action also speeds up Grym. |
Bulette | Shredding Scales | Bulette expels crystalline scales outward, possibly causing a Bleed effect on targets. |
Inquisitor W'wargaz | Mind-Claw of Tu'narath | Damages the foe's psyche, allowing W'wargaz to make a Mindsteal Link with the target. |

Act 2 Bosses Legendary Actions in Baldur's Gate 3

Shambling Mound | Wretched Growth | If a character ends turn within 5m range from the Shambling Mound, it will take Necrotic damage. Also, Shadow-Cursed vines will grow at its feet, with possible Entangle effect. |
Yurgir | Blinding Ambush | Tries to Blind a Hunted opponent before they attack or cast a spell on him |
Balthazar | Dead Wastes | Balthazar opens a rift that heals the undead and deals Necrotic damage to living characters. |
Balthazar | Spectral Aspect | Balthazar summons a creature that has resistance to Acid, Fire, Lightning, and Thunder damage and is Immune to Cold and Necrotic damage. The character that strikes it becomes Bone Chilled for two turns. The spectral cannot be Frightened, Paralysed, Petrified, Restrained, or made Prone. It can also fly in its ghost form. |
Kar'Niss | Fanatic Retaliation | Kar'niss can use a Legendary Action once every round to silence the attacker and potentially deliver 6–60 psychic damage when a Spindleweb Fanatic is killed. |
Thisobald Thorm | Overflowing Brew | The brew overflows, dealing Force, Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, Poison, or Nerdotic damage to enemies, and gives a boost to his allies with Bolstering Brew, Caustic Brew, Cold Brew, Fiery, Brew, Shocking Brew, Venomous Brew or Wasting Brew. Lasts for one turn. |

Mystic Carrion | Torrential Undeath | When the Hearthform Mapped character attacks Victoria or her allies, she rends them with a barrage of psychic energy. |
Cazador Szarr | Vampiric Swarm | Summons a swarm of bats that pushes targets 7m/23ft backward and makes them Swarmed |
Viconia DeVir | Sanctuary of Loss | Shields Victoria or her allies until they attack |
Viconia DeVir | Heartwrench | When the Hearthform Mapped character attacks Victoria or her allies, she rends them with a barrage of psychic energy. |
Raphael | Beguiling Rebuke | Tries to Beguile targets so they don't attack Raphael |
Raphael | Soul Ascension | Turns his Cambions into Hellfire Cambions. They ignore Fire resistances and immunities. |
Crown of Karsus | Karsite Grip | Crushes an enemy with Netherese energy that can fork across to three other targets within 8m |
