Backpack Battles's Berserker class provides an offensive playstyle that utilizes Battle Rage to decimate opponents. Your subclass can either capitalize on offense or increase your defenses, allowing you to mold the Berserker as you see fit. Below, you'll find every subclass for the Berserker in Backpack Battles.
Every Berserker subclass and item in Backpack Battles
At round eight of Backpack Battles, you'll choose between one of five subclasses for the Berserker. Each subclass comes with a unique item purchased from the shop, providing buffs and other effects for your character. The Berserker subclasses are as follows:

| Fighter | Brass Knuckles | On hit: 30% chance to stun for 0.5s, this and Star items gain 5% accuracy and 5% crit chance. During Battle Rage: Trigger 50% faster. |
| Blacksmith | Anvil | Item crafted: Generate a Flame. For each Star crafted item, the weapon gains +2 damage and uses 5% less stamina. |
| Chieftain | Deerwood Guardian | Damage taken reduced by 10%. Battle Rage lasts 0.5s longer for each Star Nature item. Every 1s during Battle Rage: Heal for 7 and gain 2 Mana. |
| Pack Leader | Wolf Emblem | Wolf companions are offered in the shop. When you have at least 5 Empower, you have a 30% chance to resist debuffs. Star Weapons gain 10% critical hit chance (+10% for each Pet). |
| Shaman | Shaman Mask | Runes are offered in the shop. Start of battle: Gain 1 Luck for each socketed Gemstone. Every 3s: Use 2 Luck to gain 5 random buffs. |

Best Berserker subclass in Backpack Battles
Due to the unpredictable nature of the shop, the best Berserker subclass is dependent upon your character's build when you get to round eight. For instance, if you've crafted a lot of items, the Blacksmith will net you the most benefit. If you've found a lot of Gemstones, on the other hand, then the Shaman will help you capitalize on them with Luck buffs. I recommend having a subclass in mind when you first start a run and choosing your items accordingly.
Overall, however, Chieftain is the strongest Berserker subclass in Backpack Battles. Nature items—such as Garlic—are both common and cheap to buy, making it easy to prepare for Chieftain well in advance. Furthermore, the damage reduction and extra healing during Battle Rage will shore up your defenses and allow you to deal increased damage for much longer.
