How to toggle free chat in Among Us
Free chat is only accessible to players who have an account on the game and are logged in. This measure is in place to prevent random players from flooding the game's chat with profane or inappropriate content without facing the consequences. This also applies to bots that may have acquired the game whenever it is offered for free.
How to host a game with free chat
- Create an account on Among Us and sign in
- No matter which device you use to play the game, you can link your account from the main menu screen using Epic Games, Steam, Apple ID, or Google account.
- Click Play and choose online
- Host a game and choose free chat
- Start the game!
How to join a game with free chat
- Create an Among Us account and sign in
- Click Play and choose online
- Under public, select find game
- Click chat type to change it to free chat
- Join the game!
In case you are trying to join a private game with a code, the game host will have to create the game with free chat initially.
