Apex Legends underwent many changes in 2022, including seasonal meta shifts, the addition of four new legends, a ton of collection events, and a new map. While the year was packed with content, no new weapons were added in 2022, and Season 15 featured minimal legend changes. The latest leaks for Apex Legends indicate that 2023 may feature some interesting meta changes and new content. This information is based wholly on leaks and should be taken with a grain of salt.
All leaked Apex Legends Characters
A massive leak in 2022 revealed nine Apex Legends characters, including Newcastle, Vantage, and Catalyst. While the character leaks have so far been true, the names and abilities have been subject to change. A good amount of the characters will likely have different names and abilities if they are even released. These leaks have not been officially confirmed and are subject to change. Here are the leaked characters and their abilities.

Conduit (Empathic Shielder)
Conduit appears to be a healing legend focusing on shields, capable of healing allies when close and transferring shields.
- Passive: Capacitance - Conduit regenerates shields over time and gains extra regen for each nearby ally.
- Tactical: Arc Flash - Heals ally shield at the cost of some of her own.
- Ultimate: Alternating Current - Conduit launches a cluster bomb that damages an area. Conduit and allies are healed based on damage done.
Scryer (Haunting Stalker)
Scryer seems to be a recon legend with the unique ability to see through enemy perspective. Scyer's leaked ultimate ability seems very similar to Catalyst's, so it may be different if they are released.
- Passive: Spectator - Automatically Optic-Haunt and spectate your killer.
- Tactical: Optic-Haunt - Deploy a parasite trap that reveals the target's vision.
- Ultimate: Shadow Wall - Unleash a wall of darkness that blocks sight and binds enemies.
Ballistic (Apex Arms Dealer)
Ballistic is an offensive legend capable of carrying three weapons and can debuff enemy weapons. Leaks point to Ballistic as the Season 16 legend, but has not been confirmed and is subject to change.
- Passive: Weapon Sling - Ballistic can carry a third weapon you can access in the inventory. The sling weapon cannot take attachments.
- Tactical: Smart Bullet - Shoots a projectile that debuffs enemy weapons, causing them to overheat, causing a reaction and doing damage.
- Ultimate: Weapon Enhancer - Ballistic's Ultimate buffs nearby teammates with faster reloads, faster unarmed movement speed, and infinite ammo. Ballistic will also equip and enhance his third weapon, turning it into a fully-kitted gold weapon.
Jester (Tricky Trapper)
Jester appears to be a skirmisher legend capable of getting in and out of fights quickly, deceiving opponents, and trapping enemies with mines and spectres.
- Passive: Rewire - Turn any grenade into a proximity mine that can stick to most surfaces.
- Tactical: Spectre Drop - Call a drop that deploys three spectres to guard an area. Only three spectres can be deployed at once.
- Ultimate: Cloak Field - Creates a cloaking device that hides all players in a small area, lasting six seconds.
Phantom (Agile Assassin)
Phantom appears to be a mobile legend with a seemingly powerful moveset. Phantom can maneuver quickly and can take an enemy out of the fight briefly.
- Passive: Double Jump - Phantom can double jump by pressing the jump button in midair.
- Tactical: Hook Shot - Hooks into a wall and can hang for a short time.
- Ultimate: Void Grenade - Throw a void grenade that sends players to the void for a short time.
Uplink (Satellite Savior)
Uplink seems to be a support legend that can heal allies and shield them from being downed within range.
- Passive: Network Communion - Gain 25% Recovery Effects within Signal Range.
- Tactical: Shield Satellite - Release a Satellite that can follow allies, heal them, and even revive them.
- Ultimate: Immortality Relay Beacon - Deploy a Satellite Beacon that prevents allies in the signal area from being downed.
These characters may be seen in 2023, however, since there are expected to be four seasons in the year, some of them will not be released in 2023, if at all. While the previous character leaks were fairly accurate, it is possible that some or all of the listed characters will not be released.
All Apex Legends Weapon Leaks
A number of weapons have been leaked, either from game files or seen in trailers or gameplay previews. Industry insider Thordan Smash recently compiled all the weapon leaks and their origins in a YouTube video. It has been a few seasons with no new weapons and minimal changes, so hopefully, 2023 features new weapons to shake up the meta. These weapon leaks are subject to change and may not be released. Here is everything we know about leaked weapons in Apex Legends.

Scorpion (Crossbow)
The Scorpion is a crossbow that can be switched between automatic and single-fire. Single-fire mode consumes a whole magazine, but lobs a single projectile that can stick to surfaces and explode.
Maelstrom (Light Machine Gun)
The Maelstrom is a light machine gun that has a unique ability to gain five ammo capacity on each kill. The Maelstrom is within a class of weapons that is already pretty packed, so it is possible it will be altered before release, or will not release at all.
Gemini (Energy Weapon)
The Gemini is an energy SMG that has unique attachment capabilities. It cannot hold energy magazines, however, it can be paired with another Gemini for faster holster and switch times. It can also reload ammo for the stowed Gemini by doing damage with the equipped Gemini.
AAGL Softball (Grenade Launcher)
The Softball is a Titanfall 2 grenade launcher that can do extra damage to shields. The Softball currently has voice lines in Apex Legends and has been seen in a gameplay test. The grenade launcher could switch up the meta drastically, so it is possible that it is reserved for game modes like Arenas or the rumored team deathmatch mode.
Fanatic (Pistols)
The Fanatic is a pistol that uses energy ammo and can be dual-wielded. It can also be charged up like the 30-30 to do more damage. The pistols were included in the Season 9 Genesis Collection Event dev stream, so we may see them in-game in the coming seasons.
Nemesis (Assault Rifle)
The Nemesis is an energy rifle that shoots four-round bursts. The Nemesis can also charge up a bar, switching the weapon to automatic. Leaks indicate that the Nemesis is the Season 16 weapon, but that may be subject to change.
Gameplay Changes
One of the major gameplay change leaks is a class system rework. According to the leaks, new classes will be added along with perks and changes to existing classes. Skirmisher and Defense classes are said to be the new classes. Mirage and Pathfinder are rumored to undergo reworks with these class changes. The class rework would allow legends to be more in tune with their classes, especially with a rapidly growing roster. The information on the class system rework was shared on Twitter by Thordan Smash.
Again, leaks are subject to change and maybe be very different if the content is released. As Apex Legends moves into 2023, even more changes are expected, with seasonal events, new Battle Passes, and more.
