Call of Duty: Vanguard Ranked Play is a highly competitive game mode that incorporates Call of Duty League practices. Players compete against each other to climb the Skill Divisions and get featured in the global 250 player leaderboard. Here's how the ranked mode works in Vanguard.
Vanguard Ranked Play Rules
Ranked Play features 4v4 matches on Control, Search & Destroy, and Hardpoint game modes taking place on limited maps. Unlike regular multiplayer, players need to build their loadouts from the allowed items only. The restricted items are highlighted with a caution icon in the customization menu.
Furthermore, you get penalized for quitting or getting disconnected from a ranked match midway. Friendly fire is a real thing here and killing teammates can result in suspensions and penalties. To make things fair, all weapons and attachments are unlocked for every player playing ranked.
Vanguard Ranked Play Ranking System
The Ranked Play Beta has seven Skill Divisions with five tiers each. You can progress through divisions and tiers by earning Skill Ratings (SR) by winning matches in ranked multiplayer. The Skill Division you get placed in at the start of each season is determined by five evaluation matches.

Moreover, players in Expert or higher divisions can only party up with players within one Skill Division. In addition to the divisions, Vanguard Ranked Play also has Ladder Events and Ranks. Players can compete in two Ladder Events per week to earn Stars and increase their ranking.
Ranked Play Rank of a player represents their Ladder Event accomplishments. Ladder Points are given for winning a match and are deducted if you lose one. Stars are awarded based on a player's Ladder placement after each event ends. Unlike Skill Divisions, Ranks are permanent and carry over across seasons.
Vanguard Ranked Play Rewards
Competing in the ranked mode comes with its own perks. Players will get the chance to earn special rewards including weapon blueprints, camos, operator skins, and more in each season of Ranked Play.
During Ranked Play Beta in Vanguard Season 2, players will receive an emblem and calling card for every five rank progress. Reaching the max Rank of 50 will get you the exclusive Ranked Royalty operator skin for Solange.
