PvP was a big factor in Modern Warfare 2's DMZ mode. With MWZ taking up the mantle in Modern Warfare 3, you might be wondering if it features PvP as well.
Can you kill players in MWZ (MW3 Zombies)?
Despite MWZ being a revamped version of DMZ for COD's fabled Zombies mode, there is no PvP allowed within MWZ. While DMZ was a fairly popular game mode in Modern Warfare 2 for its interesting take on an open-world, coop, PvE experience, many players were put off by its inclusion of PvP. MWZ seeks to turn what worked in DMZ into its own specific game modes, piggybacking off the success COD Zombies has always had.
However, just because you can't attack other players doesn't mean you won't encounter them in MWZ. Just like with DMZ, when you deploy into the open world, you'll also be deploying with other squads looking to take their fill from the zombie-infested cityscape. These other squads and players will appear on your overworld map, so you'll know where they are at all times. MWZ heavily encourages cooperation against the zombie threat, so even if you aren't part of another squad, you can still assist them and earn rewards. There are no downsides to doing this.
MWZ is intended to be a relaxing break from the high-octane action of MP (Multiplayer) and Warzone. There is no hard competition in this mode, making it a great place for those who still enjoy COD, but don't want a fast-paced PvP experience. There's something for everyone in MWZ.
