MW3’s newest OP Aftermarket Part gets banned in Warzone Ranked Play

Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone's newest Aftermarket Part — the JAK Requiem — is now banned in Ranked Play, likely for being too powerful. Available now via weekly challenges, the move comes less than two days after being added to the game.

Generally, it's highly unusual to remove an Aftermarket Part from Ranked Play unless it has issues or is a complete game-changer. There haven't been any complaints from players about usability issues for the JAK Requiem but rather, praise for it. It's not specified why the JAK Requiem was disabled, but we can assume that it's because this Aftermarket Part is way too powerful.

The JAK Requiem Aftermarket Part can be attached to the Kastov 762 and Kastov 545 assault rifles from MW2. It removes all the vertical recoil from the weapons (which was a major weakness for both the Kastov ARs) and makes it much easier to focus on targets, and obviously, more fun to use. You basically have to just aim and shoot at your targets without worrying about your gun flying all over the place.

Both the Kastov assault rifles were popular choices in MW2 but with the advent of better and more stable weapons in MW3, they became less favored among the community. With the JAK Requiem's addition, many are going back to using these weapons due to them having zero recoil. Moreover, players can easily get the JAK Requiem by completing the Week 2 challenges of Season 4 in MW3 and Warzone. So, it's not difficult to see why people are leaning towards using this Aftermarket Part (specifically in Ranked Play matches).

With the JAK Requiem being overpowered, the developers will likely nerf it or adjust it for the mode specifically (hopefully the latter) and bring it back later.

While you cannot use it in Ranked Play, the JAK Requiem is still usable in MW3 and Warzone's standard game modes.
