Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has just been revealed in Warzone via the Shadow Siege event. The game features a Campaign, Multiplayer, and for the first time in the Modern Warfare saga, a Zombies mode. After watching the MW3 reveal trailer, I was wondering if Verdansk is returning, but is it really?
Is Verdansk Coming Back to Warzone?
Well, the straight answer to the question is no, Verdansk is not coming to Warzone anytime soon. Call of Duty developers have a brand new map planned for the next iteration of Warzone that'll most likely release in January 2024. According to rumors, it's going to be Las Almas, but we don't know for certain.

However, you will be able to deploy back into Verdansk via the Modern Warfare 3 Campaign. In the game's reveal trailer, you can see the majority of the shots are from Verdansk. I could easily recognize popular POIs, including the Prison, Stadium, and Dam (see images above).
As per ModernWarzone on Twitter, who got the chance to play MW3 early, players will be able to revisit Verdansk in the story missions. These will be open combat missions that allow you to select from different story progression paths. I believe that nuking of Verdansk was a canon event. Hence, the only way we'll be seeing the location in the future will be via flashbacks.
