Meta Perks in Modern Warfare 3 Beta (MW3)
The perk system received a major overhaul with Modern Warfare 3, and it feels much better than the last game. It may seem complicated at first, but believe me, it's not, and you'll get used to it in no time. Here's a list of the best options for the different perk slots.
Meta Vest in Modern Warfare 3 Beta (MW3)
- Infantry Vest: This should be the go-to vest for most players as it improves tactical sprint duration, which everyone likes, and it doesn't affect any other perk and equipment slots.
- Engineer Vest: If you do want to try something else, you may use the Engineer Vest, which allows you to spot enemy equipment through walls and recharge your equipment faster. More importantly, you should be using this vest if you want an extra Gear perk slot. One thing to note is that using the Engineer Vest allows you to carry two Tacticals but removes the Lethal slot.
Meta Gloves in Modern Warfare 3 Beta (MW3)
- Quick Grip Gloves: It increases weapon swap speed, hence is a no-brainer for aggressive playstyle.
- Commando Gloves: These gloves allow you to reload while sprinting, but you have to decide if you want this ability over faster weapon swap speed.
Meta Boots in Modern Warfare 3 Beta (MW3)
- Covert Sneakers: Just like the Ninja perk from previous CoD games, these boots eliminate your footstep audio. However, it has a counter. If an enemy is using the Bone Conduction Headset Gear, they'll be able to hear you coming loud and clear.
- Lightweight Boots: These boots slightly increase your movement and swimming speeds. As a bonus, you'll also emit less noise while swimming.
- Climbing Boots: These increase the mantling and climbing speed, as well as reduce fall damage.
- Stalker Boots: These boots should help increase your aim-down-sight (ADS) and strafing speeds. However, this item doesn't seem to be working as intended during the MW3 Beta. Hence, I've put it at the bottom of the boots list.
Meta Gear in Modern Warfare 3 Beta (MW3)
- EOD Padding: An essential perk that reduces the damage you take from non-Killstreak explosives and fire, such as Grenades and Molotovs.
- Ghost T/V Camo: Hides you from enemy UAVs, Heartbeat Sensors, and other radar sources. But keep in mind that Ghost in MW3 only works while you're moving.
- Tac Mask: It reduces the strength of enemy Tactical Equipment, including Flash, Stun, and Gas Grenades. Furthermore, it makes you completely immune to Shock, Snapshot, and EMP Grenades.
- Bone Conduction Headset: This gear improves enemy footsteps and gunshot detection. Hence, it works as a direct counter to the Covert Sneakers Boots perk.
As you can see, the Gear perk slot has some of the most crucial equipment, and it may be difficult for you to choose. This is when the Engineer Vest comes into play, as it grants you an additional Gear slot at the cost of your Lethal Equipment.

Meta Equipment in Modern Warfare 3 Beta (MW3)
Here are the best Tacticals and Lethals to use in the MW3 Beta.
Meta Tactical Equipment in Modern Warfare 3 Beta (MW3)
Flash Grenade and Scatter Mine are two of the most powerful Tacticals in MW3. While the former can be used to blind enemies so you can aggressively push their position, the mine can be placed at a location you want to guard and keep enemies away from.
Meta Lethal Equipment in Modern Warfare 3 Beta (MW3)
I like switching between all the available Lethals in the game, as each one of them seems viable. That said, Semtex, the sticky grenade, and the newly added Breacher Drone are my favorite ones.
Meta Field Equipment in Modern Warfare 3 Beta (MW3)
Field Upgrades in MW3 Beta are situational, and you should select them according to your playstyle and the game mode.
- Munitions Box is a jack-of-all-trades and lets you and your team replenish ammo and equipment.
- Trophy System is perhaps the most useful field item for the Hardpoint game mode as it deflects up to three enemy projectiles, such as Grenades.
- A.C.S. is a brand-new field upgrade that you can place on objectives and it'll capture that point for you. It's great for Hardpoint and Domination game modes.
- Comm Scrambler disables enemy UAVs and their ability to call in Killstreaks within its radius. However, its location is marked on enemy minimaps, so they can easily track and destroy it.
