Delta Force is making its ‘tactical’ return after a decade

Delta Force has returned!

If you were into shooter games back in the late 90s and early 2000s, you most likely would have heard about Delta Force. This popular game franchise is finally being rebooted and making a grand return years later.

Delta Force: Hawk Ops arrives in late 2024

Delta Force: Hawk Ops is going to be a free-to-play FPS that carries forward the legacy of the forgotten series and hopefully revives it. Being developed by TiMi Studio and Team Jade, the game will be available on multiple platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

The most recent trailer for the game was showcased during the 2024 Summer Game Fest. The first half of the trailer shows actual gameplay from a chapter of the Delta Force: Hawk Ops campaign. It gave us a rough idea of the mechanics, weapons, and environment of the game, but I can't wait to see more.

The second half of the trailer gets even more interesting when the Battle of Mogadishu sequence takes over. This will also be a campaign mission in the game that takes place in 1993 Somalia, inspired directly by the 2003 hit Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. It's no surprise to me that the developers are relying on nostalgia to some extent, but the game's success will only be determined by the players.

Delta Force: Hawk Ops is set in the modern era and will feature various operators, weapons, vehicles, and game modes.

How to pre-register for Delta Force: Hawk Ops

You can pre-register for the game now to earn free rewards when the game launches later this year.

Furthermore, a closed playtest is available in July, so you can enter now and may get to play early during the limited access. For now, the only public keys that can be earned are through lottery. Follow the Delta Force: Hawk Ops X (formerly Twitter) page and enter giveaways there to earn playtest keys. You can also wishlist the game on Steam and opt-in for the playtest once it begins. Steam's Playtest functionality will automatically grant access to chosen players.

Finally, you can pre-register on the game's official website for a Level Infinite Pass. If selected for the playtest, you'll get an email notification.

While Delta Force: Hawk Ops is yet to see its global launch, you can hop on to other free-to-play shooter games like Call of Duty's Battle Royale, which recently added the Black Ops 6 Easter Egg in Warzone – Hunt For CIA Mole Event.
