Deltarune Chapter 2 may be fresh in everyone’s minds, but with the quickest gamers already completing the game, it’s already time to ask: When do Deltarune Chapters 3-5 to come out?
Deltarune Chapter 1 released on October 31st, 2018, a spooky Halloween treat for Undertale fans. Almost three whole years later, and Deltarune Chapter 2 was unveiled on September 17th. But luckily, according to lead developer Toby Fox, the wait for more Deltarune chapters may not be so long.
In a blog post released on September 19th, Toby Fox revealed the reasoning for releasing Deltarune Chapter 2 now and future plans: “The world has been really tough for everybody recently. So I decided to release DELTARUNE Chapter 2 for free. I guess like a pet cat that drops bugs at your doorstep, I can, with some pride, show you the weird things I’ve been doing. I’m not sure if it will help, but I hope so.”
The blog post also went on to give information about Deltarune Chapters 3-5. Previously, Fox had stated that the remaining chapters of Deltarune, including Chapter 2, would not be free. Fox's next goal, however, is to finish these chapters and release them all in one go.
Fox also confirmed that going forward, the remaining chapters will not be free. The actual price isn't confirmed, but Fox mentioned that it would likely cost more than Undertale.
Right now, an exact release date isn’t something Fox is willing to commit to share with the audience. He'll only say that it'll be done when it's done. While that's not the answer fans currently enjoying Deltarune Chapter 2 would like to hear, it's at least something.
