How to Redeem Echo Engrams in Destiny 2

I have pulled Ill Omen fourteen times so far. Fuming.

Act 1 of Episode 1 of our new year of Seasonal content in Destiny 2 has dropped, which means a new activity, the return of an old friend, and plenty of tasty loot to find. And if you wanna find out how to get your mitts on that tasty loot yourself, you'll need to know how to redeem Echo Engrams in Destiny 2.

With a lot of people returning to Destiny after a very long hiatus to see out the end, and with plenty of blueberries joining in on the fun too, there might be some confusion on how seasonal content works and more importantly, so we'll walk you through the basics.

After completing the introduction mission to Echoes, you'll have to go to the H.E.L.M destination, which has been the hub for seasonal content for a good while now. On the Destinations screen, it's located below and to the right of the Traveler in the middle.

If you're here right after completing the mission, you'll need to listen to Saint-14, Osiris and Failsafe talk for a while before getting a (really cute) cutscene. After it's all done, you'll be able to chat to Failsafe herself. Failsafe is the seasonal vendor, which is to say she's the one you'll be getting bounties and getting your loot from.

Interact with her to bring up the vendor screen, which can be a little overwhelming if you're unfamiliar. Redeeming your Engrams can be done by clicking the Engram icon in the top right.

Here you'll also see her bounties for you, which are objectives that can be completed to increase your rank, which is that bar at the top next to the Engram icon. Increasing your rank offers various rewards, and getting all the way to Rank 16 grants you a very important item in an Ascendant Shard. Getting this far also resets your rank back to 1, which allows you to earn them all over again.

For those unaware, Engrams are effectively loot containers. Picking one up and redeeming it grants you a weapon or piece of armor from a pool of potential items. Echo Engrams are specifically engrams that drop weapons and armor from the new seasonal content, an example being 'Lost Signal'. (A very nice new grenade launcher.)
