To call a class 'the strongest' may seem a little strange, but in Diablo 4's case, it's not strange at all. Class balance has been extraordinarily questionable since the game was in its beta, so it's no wonder people are wondering which one is the best now. While this obviously a subjective tier list you're about to lay eyes on, I'd say there are some clear cuts between the classes that much be mentioned. So, without further delay, here are the best classes in Diablo 4, from best to worst.
Diablo 4 - Class Tier List
S-Tier
Barbarian
When you compare the Barbarian class to the rest of the cast, it is almost a no-brainer that this is the strongest class in the game. The Barbarian has a popular Whirlwind build that does extreme DPS (Damage Per Second) in all directions while moving at high speed. This build alone propels the entire class to the top due to how efficient it is for farming content, especially at higher levels. The damage this class is able to output is totally insane, and I would fully expect a nerf to hit it at some point, perhaps once Season 1 begins.
Sorcerer
Joining the Barbarian in S-Tier is the Sorcerer for its crazy amount of build variety and potency. Unlike the Barbarian though, I do not think it is overpowering. Still, for the amount of options and damage output, this class is capable of, it would be hard for me to place this class anywhere else on the tier list. Whether you're focusing on Fire, lightning, ice, or all three, the Sorcerer cannot go wrong with its choices.

A-Tier
Rogue
The Rogue class is extremely powerful in dealing with single-target damage. If not for the Barbarian, it would be the best class for it. However, in a game focused on dealing with large groups of enemies consistently, the Rogue does suffer a bit in the AOE (Area of Effect) department. While it does have options for AOE that are effective, they are not automatic and must be consciously used to deal with large packs. This is not the case for the Barbarian or the Sorcerer, that rely upon abilities and spells that deal AOE while also dealing potent single-target damage.
B-Tier
Druid
During the beta, Druid was easily the weakest class of the cast, offering little damage, and not much else to go off of. Here in retail Diablo 4, the class has seen some improvement, though I still think it's an underperformer compared to the top 3 classes already mentioned in this list. While it is completely playable now, it doesn't do anything better than anyone really. If I had to mention one big positive for it though, it does have a large amount of build variety, which is always awesome in a Diablo game.
Necromancer
The opposite must be stated for the Necromancer class. It is a class that has fallen from the heights it had during the beta. While AOE is still not much of an issue for it, boss fights are rough, very rough, at times for the Necromancer. While far from unplayable, be warned that you may be in for a tough experience initially.
