What is Destruction in Elex II?

A meter that's a mix of reputation and karma.

The destruction meter in Elex 2 is essentially the Cold meter from the original, only with consequences. Instead of displaying Jax's humanity, the Destruction meter shows how the world views Jax. By having a low meter, NPCs will be more friendly and treat Jax better through random encounters. Having a high meter will make them suspicious and even hostile.

Essentially, the Destruction meter combines karma and reputation. You get a higher meter when you're a jerk and a lower one when you do good things. When your meter is high, even the best of people won't trust you, so other characters can become extremely standoffish very quickly.

You can raise the meter by killing random people or choosing mean or insensitive dialogue options. If you want to lower the Destruction meter, you need to do random acts of kindness. Choosing kinder dialogue options or giving items to random NPCs lowers the Destruction meter. You cannot get around this. If you want to look like a nice person, you must be a nice person.

Joining factions is impacted by the Destruction meter because you cannot join the Morkons with a low Destruction meter.
