If you want to complete raids in Escape From Tarkov, you have to extract alive. However, figuring out the best way to extract isn't easy, especially for new players. That's why I've created this guide so that you can use my experience to help you learn and improve. Here's how to extract safely in Escape From Tarkov.
Extracting in Escape From Tarkov Explained - How to Extract Guide
Extracting in Escape From Tarkov involves moving to an exit location on any map and escaping alive. However, anyone who's attempted this knows it isn't that simple. You have to know where the extraction point is and survive long enough to get there. All these issues combined make extracting something of an art. The first step is to spawn on a map and get to know it.
Learning maps take a while because maps in Escape From Tarkov are absolutely enormous. Some extracts even have hidden requirements or don't always appear at certain times. You can learn these requirements as you play and use tools such as Map Genie to help you learn the map. In my experience, using Map Genie and running around with bare-bones equipment helped me learn maps, such as Customs. Eventually, as I spawned sometimes with no gear, I figured out where good loot was and where most extracts are.

How to tell what your extracts are in Escape From Tarkov
When spawning on any of the maps in Escape From Tarkov, players will get a small list of extracts they can use to escape the raid. Players can only use these extracts and figure out what they are by pressing the O key. Pressing the O key makes a small list of extracts appear in the top right corner of your screen.
As shown above, extracts with a clear box next to them are always free to use, but extracts with question marks mean hidden requirements. For example, the Dorms V-Ex extract on Customs requires 6k in rubles before you can use it to escape a raid.

How to find extracts in Escape From Tarkov
To find extracts in Escape From Tarkov, you need to look for locations with an extracting box in the top right corner. Finding extracts can take a lot of trial and error. Luckily you can always load up practice matches, but only if you own the Edge of Darkness version of the game.
Escape From Tarkov gives players ideas about where most extracts are via visual cues. For example, most extracts will have green lights next to them or other visual hints that state whether a location is an extract. Use the image below as an example of what to look for when locating and learning where to find extracts.
