Fallout 76 Deathclaw locations – where to find them?

You don't have to look too far to find the Deathclaw if the Deathclaw finds you!

Deathclaws are considered one of the most challenging creatures in Fallout 76, rewarding brave players with valuable XP and loot when killed. That being said, they are my nightmare fuel from the previous Fallout titles due to their high damage resistance, high health pool, and excellent damage output, all of which can present a serious challenge even for high-level characters. Once you are ready, let's look at how to find them in the wilderness.

Where to find All Deathclaws spawns in Fallout 76

You can find Deathclaws spawning in several locations throughout Fallout 76.

  • Hopewell Cave
  • Abandoned Waste Dump
  • Thunder Mountain Sub Station TM-02
  • Deathclaw Island:

Overall, you won't need to look very far when trying to find Deathclaws in Fallout 76, as they are pretty common in a few locations on the map, such as the ones above. You can also find them spawning in the wake of nukes and events, but the locations we have listed here will be your best bet.

However, you may run into problems trying to find Deathclaws in these locations if they have already been killed by another player on your server. If you think this is the case and there are no Deathclaws in your location, try server hopping or checking another spot.

Hopewell Cave

You can find this location over in the Savage Divide. The cave entrance is skull-shaped, so you really can't miss it. You can find the Deathclaw near a pool of polluted water towards the back of the cave, protecting its nest.

Deathclaw Island

This location is situated to the far northwest and is considered the best low-level location to find Deathclaws. You can also obtain at least one guaranteed Deathclaw Egg on this location if you decide to go for the optional objective in the Hunter for Hire Main Quest.

Thunder Mountain Sub Station TM-02

You can find this substation near the town of Watoga. Here you'll witness the Deathclaw fighting some giant ants in the fenced area. I like seeing them slugging each other just to enter the fun right at the end and grab a couple of easy kills. If you visit this area, be careful as the Deathclaws will likely be high level.

Abandoned Waste Dump

Located in the Mire, the Abandoned Waste Dump is another decent location where you can find Deathclaws, but try server hopping if you don't see any here. Go to a cave at the back of the yard; it opens into the cavern subsection, where more barrels are stored and up to three Deathclaws can be found.
