Frightflowers are a species that grow to full size given enough time. If you’re looking to defeat its rare variant, the Brumeflower, before it evolves in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, this is your guide.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: How to beat the Brumeflowers and prevent them from evolving
The only way you can prevent the Brumeflowers from evolving is by staggering and defeating them quickly. They fully evolve after three Growth Spurts, so you have to do it quickly. The Brumeflowers are weak to Ice.
Fortunately, there are a lot of ways for you to quickly stagger enemies at this point in the game. The gist is to dogpile on one enemy and use the correct abilities. If you’re battling these things during your journey towards the reactor, then you’ll only have four characters available to you. I’ll focus on them for this guide.
Cloud
Equip Buster Sword and use Blizzard. If you have Snow Flurry unlocked in your Folio, a Blizzard will turn Cloud’s basic attacks into Ice attacks. Using Focused Thrust with Buster Sword increases the filling of an enemy’s stagger gauge, and using it with an Ice element Buster Sword will only speed it up.

Barret
Use Hi-Caliber Rifle’s Bonus Round ability to increase the stagger potency of Barret’s attacks. Repeatedly spam Overcharge and Icy Impulse after.
Red XIII and Cait Sith
For any of these two characters, use their unique Ice ability (Cold Front or Chilling Roar) to deal ice damage. Cait Sith has a particularly high Magic ATK stat, so you can also equip it with an Ice Materia for the damage.
