Final Fantasy XIV, like almost all MMOs has a weekly reset timer. This timer dictates some rewards, currencies, and bonuses you can get for playing the game.
The weekly reset is at 4am EST or 1am PST on a Tuesday. For European players, this means 9am GMT, or 10am CET on a Tuesday. This is 11PM JST of Monday evening for the Japanese servers.
The reset time happens simultaneously across the world, so no region or server get an advantage by having an earlier reset time. This also means that the Japanese servers reset time happens late at night while occurring in the early morning or afternoon for other servers.
The reset affects several timers, but the biggest ones are your weekly tomestones. There is a weekly cap on the most recent tombstone currency: the Allagan Tomestones of Revelation. You are hard capped at 900 a week, but you can hold up to 2,000 total.
Additionally, Khloe’s Tails (the weekly puzzle roulette) and Faux Hollows (it’s high-end duty equivalent), reset on the weekly timer. You can take a new journal from Khloe or speak to the Faux Commander in Idyllshire after the reset.
Two other things that reset are Custom Deliveries and Raid lockouts. As of writing there are no current Raid lockouts, as the expansion has come to an end. But as Endwalker starts releasing 24-man and 8-man raids, the gear you can get each week will be limited.
The final important feature that resets weekly is the Challenge Log. The Challenge Log rewards large amounts of experience, MGP, Gil, and other rewards for completing it. If you’re able to complete objectives on your weekly challenge log, it can be extremely lucrative.
If you ever want to check your timers in game, press Ctrl+U. This will bring up the timer window, and you can check when resets are going to happen!
The Challenge Log is a great way to make some extra in-game cash. For more ways check out How to Earn Gil In Final Fantasy 14 on Pro Game Guides.
