Video-game streamer, translator, and Japanese business person Audrey, who goes by @aitaikimochi on Twitter, has revealed new translations concerning Final Fantasy XVI. The new translations reveal that the game is "greatly taking shape," suggesting the title is further into development than most believed, and that the new trailer for the game is done.
was on a stream about NieR Re[in]carnation. Based on Audrey's translation, Square Enix producer Naoki Yoshida, aka Yoshi-P, revealed in a Nier Re[in]carnation stream that a new trailer for FF XVI should be dropping "soon." Yoshi-P specified that multiple factors force the announcement to be delayed. Yoshi-P also said that the dev team of FF XVI is currently working on polishing and debugging the game. Although Audrey originally translated one of Yoshi-P's quotes as Final Fantasy XVI being "pretty much complete," she clarified that the literal quote is "it's greatly taking shape."

Audrey further clarified that Yoshi-P's quote should not be taken as confirmation that Final Fantasy XVI is complete. Audrey pointed out that there are multiple pieces of information about FF XVI that suggest the game is in its final stage of development, yet the game still has to go through the debugging stage, which can take time.
However, Audrey took Yoshi-P's statement on the NieR stream as suggesting that the game is almost complete aside from all the bug fixes and testing still needed required. Yoshi-P is heavily involved in multiple Square Enix projects, serving as director for Final Fantasy XIV and is a producer of Final Fantasy XVI.
