Square Enix just announced that the second Final Fantasy 14 expansion, Stormblood, can be claimed for free for a limited time, with players who do being able to keep it forever. Here's how to get the FFXIV Stormblood expansion for free.
How to claim Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood for free
Following the events of the Heavensward expansion, Stormblood takes players to the fight against the Garlean Empire. It contains roughly 500 hours of content, including Main Story Quests, side quests, and dungeons. And you can get it for literally nothing—if you own the Final Fantasy XIV Starter Edition, anyway.
The Starter Edition usually contains the base game—A Realm Reborn—and the first expansion, Heavensward, for $19.99. But from now until May 8, 2023, players will also receive Stormblood as well.
Existing owners of the FFXIV Starter Edition will also be given Stormblood for free if they don't have it already. To redeem it, simply head to the expansion's store page on your platform of choice, and if you already own the Starter Edition, you'll be able to download it for nothing.
Is FFXIV Stormblood free forever?
Once you've claimed Stormblood before May 8, 2023, whether you just purchased the Starter Edition or already had it in your library, it's yours to keep forever. So make sure if you want to carry on your Eorzea adventure, you take advantage of the free deal while you can!
