The Moonfire Faire is returning to Final Fantasy XIV on August 10, and ahead of the festivities, Final Fantasy XIV has confirmed that an old favorite is returning for the event. In a blog post from August 7, Square Enix confirmed that the jumping puzzle obstacle course, a familiar staple of past Moonfire Faires, would be returning.
What should Final Fantasy XIV fans expect from the upcoming Moonfire Faire?
We’d already seen that this year’s event would be themed around the Phoenix Rises, a Super Sentai-inspired group of costumed heroes. But now the new blog has revealed additional details, including the fact that the jumping puzzle is returning, and a special reward is waiting for those who complete it!
That reward is one of the best photo spots we’ve seen in-game in a long time: A huge stage overlooking the unlimited oceans of Eorzea.

But better than that, the stage will periodically ignite with colorful explosions, making it the perfect place for hero poses and dramatic group-pose screenshots.
However, there was also one extra hidden detail in the blog post that wasn’t written about. Did you spot it in that final image? Yes, for once, the special headgear for the event seems to be fitted for Hrothgar and Viera. It’s a sign that FFXIV is being far more accommodating with two races that for a long time, were unable to equip many headgears.
Overall, we’re pretty excited about the Moonfire Faire. With a great new glamour set and the overall celebration of Final Fantasy XIV upcoming, it's a great chance to get back into the game with the new expansion on the horizon!
