Ranked Play is out now in Fortnite, and there are plenty of ranks for you to move on through. The highest rank is aptly titled Unreal, and while most players won't be sniffing it, we can help you work your way toward it.
How to rank up in Fortnite Ranked Play
Fortnite Ranked Play launched with a bunch of ranks; players will initially find themselves without one as the game finds a good landing spot for them. Your rank also varies by game mode, so your solo Battle Royale rank will be different from the one you receive from playing with a squad.
As for ranking up, it's a simple process, but it's definitely easier said than done. Winning games and getting eliminations is key, but the game will prioritize later game eliminations more than early game ones. The rank of players you eliminate will also be taken into account, but there's no way of knowing what rank somebody is when you eliminate them, so that's tough to bank on.
All in all, it boils down to getting eliminations and placing high in matches, and if you're able to do that consistently, you should climb through the ranks. Of course having good aim, being a good builder, having good game sense, etc. will be key if you're planning on going for the Unreal rank.
How many ranks are in Fortnite Ranked Play?
The typically ranking system is found here: you'll see Bronze, Silver, Gold, and so on, but they are broken up into smaller subsections. Here's how it shakes out.
- Bronze III, II, I
- Silver III, II, I
- Gold III, II, I
- Platinum III, II, I
- Diamond III, II, I
- Elite
- Champion
- Unreal
It'll be a long journey to get to Unreal, and with Ranked Season Zero wrapping up at the end of the season, it might be better if you started the grind in Chapter 4 Season 4 so you have some more time.
