How to use Wings of Icarus in Fortnite Myths & Mortals
Wings of Icarus can be found all around the map, so you must explore and loot chests to find it. This is a new traversal item that, once equipped, allows you to soar through the skies and divebomb your opponents from above. With this item, players can rotate around the map quickly and swoop down for easy eliminations simultaneously.
However, like the myth of Icarus, this traversal item has a few drawbacks. For instance, if you fly too long, the wings will likely catch fire and burn. Additionally, sustaining shots and taking damage from opponents while flying with the Wings of Icarus leads to a crash landing. So, you need to be tactical while using this item.
I recommend using it as an escape tool instead of attacking players with the divebomb mechanic. One of the strategies I follow revolves around repositioning quickly when ambushed or outnumbered by opponents. Earlier, you could perform this type of escape with the Shockwave Hammer and Kinetic Blade. Similarly, use the Wings of Icarus to find cover and run away from fights.
In Chapter 5 Season 2, players will encounter various Greek bosses such as Zeus, Ares, Hades, and Cerberus. To get the various mythic weapons such as the Thunderbolt of Zeus, Harbinger SMG, Huntress DMR, and Warforged Assault Rifle, these bosses must be defeated. The Wings of Icarus will prove beneficial as players can take advantage of a vantage point while strategically launching attacks on bosses before engaging them in close-range combat.
