Genshin Impact leak teases Yelan and Kuki Shinobu’s possible release timeline

Among Genshin Impact's most-awaited characters, Yelan and Kuki Shinobu have taken the spotlight, now that Kamisato Ayato is confirmed to come out in the next update. According to leaker @lumie_lumie on Twitter, Yelan, a five-star Hydro bow user, is expected to occupy the first banner of Version 2.7. Meanwhile, Kuki Shinobu, a four-star Electro character, is expected to drop on the second banner of Version 2.7. Her weapon is currently unknown.

This information aligns with the recent leak that Version 2.8 will be a full rerun patch—which includes Kaedehara Kazuha's coveted banner—before Sumeru's subsequent release.

Yelan's name has been thrown around for the past year or so, with early rumors that she may be a polearm-wielding Madame Ping in her younger form. However, leaked rigs from the Version 2.6 beta files paint a different picture of Yelan: a bow user with a bobbed hime cut and a furry overcoat.

Meanwhile, Kuki Shinobu was first introduced as a member of the Arataki Gang. Yae Miko's voicelines described her as someone who hails from a family of shrine maidens, who paved her own path by choosing to study in Liyue and try out different trades. Recent leaks also revealed that Yanfei may receive a voiceline about Kuki Shinobu.

While these pieces of information currently fit into the upcoming update puzzle, it's important to remember that they're just speculative leaks, and everything is still subject to changes in the coming months.
