Will the Mondstadt region be expanded in Genshin Impact?

Genshin Impact has several regions, but you've probably noticed by now that they aren't fully released at launch. In fact, Mondstadt, the game's smallest region, is yet to be complete despite the edition of Dragonspine. While it may seem like things tied up nicely, there is more of Mondstadt to come.

Yes, there are several characters and areas that are confirmed to exist, but missing from Genshin Impact. The missing Mondstadt characters are:

• Varka
• Alice

While we don't know for sure if these two are playable, Alice is a major part of the game's lore, and Varka is mentioned in voice lines. There are also three possible areas that we know of that have yet to be released these are:

• Dandelion Sea
• Dornman Port
• Black Castle

Out of these, the most likely one we will see is Dornman Port, as it is mentioned quite a bit in the game and seems to be how Mondstadt imports many of its products. Mondstadt will eventually wrap up, but going on the fact that Venti hasn't had his second character story, we should be safe for now.
