How to get 175 Cooldown to use Stunning Shield in God of War Ragnarök

Boost that stat.

Thanks to the large amount of armor, weapon, relic, and amulet combinations available in God of War Ragnarök, you can easily tailor Kratos' build to match your playstyle. However, some Amulet Enchantments require specific builds to be able to use. Case in point: the Fossilized Keepsake. It can slowly produce a stunning shield, but to be used, you'll need to boost Kratos' cooldown stat to 175. Here's how to do it.

Like many other ARPG games, you can boost your main character's stats in many ways, but primarily through the equipment you use. So, to boost Kratos' Cooldown stat, you should first look at what armor and weapons you can use to boost this stat. For example, the Fortified Frost Knob is a Leviathan Axe weapon attachment that will raise your Cooldown stat. This weapon attachment will raise it even further if you upgrade it at a shop.

To build up to 175 Cooldown, you'll likely need to use a dedicated armor set. Either the Hunter's or the Undying Pyres armor sets will do the job. You can choose whichever one fits your preferred combat style.

The Hunter's set is obtained by crafting using Hunter's Brands. You'll receive these as a reward for completing various Favors around The Crater of Vanaheim. This armor set is geared toward boosting ranged attack damage by up to 20% with both the waist and wrist pieces equipped. So, if you're a fan of the Draupnir Spear, this might be a good set for you.

The Undying Pyres armor set is obtained by completing The Crucible Favor in Muspelheim. Using the Wrist and Waist pieces of this armor set will boost the rate at which your Permafrost, Immolation, and Maelstrom skill gauges rise by up to 30%. The chest piece will grant Kratos a shield when his Permafrost, Immolation, and Maelstrom skill gauges are full, preventing the first hit taken from resetting the gauge. If you prefer close combat, you might want to consider using this armor set.

There are other ways to boost your Cooldown stat, but they require more effort for less of a boost. Other amulet enchantments can provide a slight boost to your Cooldown stat. Also, completing the Across the Realms Favor will boost your cooldown stat permanently by five.
