Giovanna is an Aesfrosti geologist with an unrivaled yearning for knowledge of Norzelian land. She joins House Wolffort in hopes of seeing more of the world. Giovanna is one of three characters (along with Decimal and Quahaug) who are difficult to get during your first playthrough because of the conviction strength you need for all three alignments.
To get Giovanna, your Liberty level needs to be really, really high—much higher than your Morality and Utility, which need to be pretty high as well. Using items, spending coins, healing allies, and deploying not recommended units during battle are some ways you can raise Liberty.
However, the things that raise this conviction the most are providing courageous or free-spirited answers during dialogue prompts as well as choosing red paths when you consult the Scales of Conviction.

Giovanna functions differently depending on the terrain of the tile she’s on. For example, in puddles she’s a healer, while on flatlands she’s a physical attacker. She can even become a mage on grass tiles. You can build her anyway you want.
