After hours of grinding missions and solving puzzles on The Xianzhou Lufou (I'm guilty of the latter—I couldn’t pass up the extra EXP), you’ve finally reached Trailblazer 40 in Honkai: Star Rail. Congrats! You’re now ready to move up to Equilibrium Level 3. If you’re having a bit of trouble getting through it, here’s a quick guide to help you out.
Trial of the Equilibrium 3 guide - Honkai Star Rail
With Equilibrium level missions, monsters may change. So, for the sake of longevity, I'll be as general as I cn. The best team to use in these challenges shares the same principle. They should always have the following:
- Trailblazer (Fire) or another defender like Gepard
- A healer like Natasha
- A DPS the first monster is weak to - so a Wind OR Physical DPS for me
- A DPS the second monster is weak to - so a Fire OR Lightning DPS for me
Doing so will allow you to cover all bases. You’ll have a main damage dealer for both rounds, a healer to get you out of a pinch, and a defender that can create shields for the entire team. In my playthrough, I used Dan Heng, Serval, Trailblazer (Fire), and Natasha.

You don’t need any fancy warps to create a good team. What you do need are upgraded Relics and Light Cones. So, if you’ve been holding onto those EXP materials, now is the perfect time to use them. Focus on HP Relics for your healer and ATK/Crit relics for your damage dealers. Salvage any Relics you don’t use (especially those nasty two- and three-star ones) so you can get extra upgrade materials.
Damage dealers can also be equipped with Relics that boost damage from a specific element (like Fire and Wind), but I find ATK Relics more versatile in early game. After all, you can easily switch them to another character if you need to!
