Octopath Traveler 2 – Scent of Commerce in Winterbloom Side Story Walkthrough

Scent of Commerce is a series of side quests you can undertake with Partitio in your party. The one in Winterbloom has you meeting a troubled merchant looking to sell his gramophone. Partitio suggests that they record music onto it in hopes that it’ll sell better. But to do that, you need to find musicians whose music you can record.

Where to find all musicians for Partitio’s Scent of Commerce side story – Octopath Traveler 2

You don’t need just one recording of a musician but three. These three people can be found in Flamechurch (Crestlands), Crackridge (Wildlands), and Canalbrine (Harborlands). Respectively, you’re looking for a Pianist, Guitarist, and Violinist. Their locations are depicted in the images below.

You can choose to take them one by one to Winterbloom, but we prefer you collect them in one go. For this, you will need the Path Actions of Temenos (Guide), Partitio (Hire), Ochette, (Befriend), and Agnea (Allure). It doesn’t matter who entices the NPCs to come, as long as you have the three of them in your party.

Completing the quest will add a gramophone in all taverns. You can pick up music sheets around Solistia and change the tavern’s BGM whenever you’re in town. Shops and townspeople will usually be the ones holding onto them.

All Scent of Commerce quests are optional, but they do add a lot of flavor to your Octopath Traveler 2 gameplay. One will even give you access to a hidden job called Arcanist, the ultimate mage class of the game.
