Overwatch 2 is coming with a lot of changes from the original game, meaning fans may be a bit wary of what to expect. Amongst the changes, we found five key details worth highlighting that really speak to how different Overwatch 2 will be compared to Overwatch 1.
From 6 to 5
One of the most notable changes between the original Overwatch and the new entry is the number of players on each team. In Overwatch 1, having six players fight against six other players is the norm. In the new Overwatch 2, players will have teams of five on each side. The one role that will be trimmed will be the tank, meaning teams will now have one.
Get ready for a story with friends
An exciting difference that will be seen in Overwatch 2 is the new campaign that has co-op abilities. Not only will players get the chance to play a story mode that gives rich and deeper insight into the Overwatch universe, but they will also get new opportunities to play one-on-one with their friends in exciting new co-op scenarios.
Push mode engaged
Amongst the game modes that already exist, Overwatch 2 will be adding a new one to the rotation. The new match mode is called Push and features a giant robot that is the centerpiece in a match to shove the machine to the other team's side. This mode adds an element of playfulness that many fans are sure to appreciate.

Say goodbye to Assault Mode
While a new mode is being added to Overwatch 2, one of the modes from Overwatch 1 is being removed. Fans will sadly have to mourn the loss of Assault Mode, but not all fans will be sad. This mode has been regarded by some in the game's community as the worst mode. Depending on who you are, you may or may not be happy to see this mode gone.
Some characters have been tweaked
Fans of Bastion, Doomfist, and Orisa should watch out for tweaks made to these characters in Overwatch 2. Bastion has had its turret mode made a lot less powerful, as well as having a grenade power instead of self-healing abilities. While Bastion may be regarded as weaker in Overwatch 2, Orisa has been given a major boost in damage and speed. Doomfist will see the biggest change with a complete role change, going from DPS to Tank.
