With Overwatch 2 being free-to-play, fans of the original title can seamlessly transition from it to the latest iteration. All accomplishments and loot collections from Overwatch 1 will be carried forward to Overwatch 2. For longtime players, this is fantastic news due to the likelihood of having built up quite the collection of skins, icons, sprays, emotes, and more.

Will Overwatch 2 have a battle pass?

Yes, Overwatch 2 will have a battle pass system instead of the loot boxes featured in Overwatch. Completing various challenges and winning matches will unlock rewards in the battle pass. However, there is a free battle pass for those who do not wish to pay but will not be able to unlock all the rewards offered.

The Overwatch 2 battle pass will last roughly nine weeks and can be purchased for 1,000 Overwatch coins, about $10. You can buy a more expensive version that unlocks the first 20 battle pass levels for 2,200 coins, roughly $22, called Watchpoint Pack. In this pack, you'll also earn 2,000 Overwatch coins that you can spend or save for the next two upcoming battle passes.
