Chained Darkness is a particularly difficult boss, like an homage to hidden bosses in classic RPGs. This Chained Darkness guide for Pathfinder Lord of Nothing will help you die less frequently.
How to Beat Chained Darkness in Pathfinder Lord of Nothing
Chained Darkness is an infamously hard-to-beat hidden boss that will trample anyone who steps into his domain. He is by far the strongest opponent in Lord of Nothing. To defeat him, you must level up your party to level 11 and equip them with weapons that maximize damage output and protection. If required, you can respec your party, so their stats will work better against Chained Darkness.
How to find Chained Darkness
A good starting point for finding Chained Darkness is an entrance to the lowest level of the Shadow Plane. Turn to your left, and you should see some platforms to the left of the door. Teleport to them, and you will find a dead body with mirror shards. Pick them up and come back to the door.
The next room contains a bunch of switches you will use to lower the cells. Lower the southwest cell and follow the path to the trophy room. In the trophy room, you will find a shield and a puddle of Darkness next to it. If you cast True Seeing, you will see a mirror. Putting the mirror shards in the mirror will open the way forward.
Inside the mirror dimension, you will find six switches, each of them named after some evil thing. Activate the Misery, Suffering, and Pains switches, and you will summon Chained Darkness.

How to beat Chained Darkness
Before you challenge Chained Darkness, make sure all your characters are leveled up to level 11. To secure that, ensure the experience goes to six main team members. Create three Lawful Good Mercs, then a Dexterity Tank with high Charisma. Your leader should have high Charisma and Strength, and the last team member should be an Ecclesitheurge.
Cast Witch Fortune Hex for a minute and apply it to everyone. Also, take Bless Weapon for crits that automatically confirm. You can buy the goggles that will allow you to roll 20 on your dispel magic once per day. The only weapon that can kill Chained Darkness is Mithral Kama, and you can buy it in the Tavern. However, use it only when Chained Darkness falls before he resurrects.
Rewards for beating Chained Darkness
You must play the game on Core difficulty or higher to get the rewards for beating Chained Darkness. The first reward is Minor Nightglass, which gives summoned creatures various buffs and resistances. Next, you will get eight Void Shards, Scroll of Polar Midnight, and Scroll of Weird. On Hard or Unfair difficulty, you will get Ring of Shadow Stealing, and Unfair exclusive rewards are Absolute Darkness and Midnight Flail.
