There are a lot of changes made to the classic Pokemon formula for Pokemon Legends: Arceus. One of the most notable is the way you interact with Pokemon in the wild. Wild Pokemon can have several different reactions, including trying to attack you, the player.

If you get hit by a Pokemon too many times while exploring, then you are going to blackout. You will be taught early on how to dodge attacks in the game. Essentially, you can do a dodge roll to avoid most attacks by tapping the Y button.

It's important to note that dodging isn't a fool-proof plan, especially against alpha Pokemon who can dash towards you like Rapisdash. You should use dodge to avoid as many attacks as you can while bringing out your own Pokemon or trying to escape to safety.

Try not to entirely rely on dodge rolling as a method for dealing with rowdy Pokemon, as this can easily lead to you losing all your health. Be vigilant of your surroundings and cautious when engaging hostile Pokemon.
