Sometimes, you just don't want to wait around for a mystery pregnancy in The Sims 4! You may want to speed up the pregnancy and know exactly what type of baby you are getting. Here are some methods to help you with that.
Speed up your sim's pregnancy
There are a couple of different ways your pregnant sim can have a faster pregnancy. Which method you choose is a matter of preference, as each works well.
Method 1 - Cheat command to trigger labor
A simple way to speed up your sim's pregnancy is to jump straight to being in labor! To do this, type Ctrl+Shft+C, then type in testingcheats on. Finally, add the sims. add_buff pregnancy_inlabor cheat code to the panel and hit enter. Your sim will now instantly be ready to give birth.
Method 2 - Use MC Command Center
If you want to avoid using long cheats in the control panel that can be annoying to do each time, consider getting the MC Command Center Mod. Here, you can manually change your Sim's pregnancy speed, down to the specific trimester.
Change your sim baby's gender
There are a few different ways to change or influence the birth sex of your pregnant sim's child. Each of these methods has its own advantages and disadvantages, so choose which one works the best for your Sims 4 playing style.
Method 1 - Change your toddler
If you do not want to download any mods and your sim is past their first trimester (you cannot influence birth sex through food or music after this), simply wait until the baby ages up into a toddler. After this, type Ctrl+Shft+C, type in testingcheats on, cas.fulleditmode, and then Shft+Click the toddler. Choose Modify in CAS and change the gender here.
Method 2 - Influence gender through music and food
A more natural option that allows you to have control over the baby's birth sex is to change your pregnant sim's eating and listening habits during the first trimester. For a boy, eat more carrots and listen to a lot of alternative music on the radio. For a girl, eat strawberries and listen to pop music. This is not foolproof, but this is a good option if you are against using mods or heavy cheats in your gameplay.
Method 3 - Use MC Command Center
If you want to avoid using long cheats in the control panel or don't want to spend time tediously having your sims eat and listen to music, try downloading the MC Command Center Mod. Here, you can manually change your Sim's pregnancy, including both sex and number of children.
