How to Squid Roll in Splatoon 3

If you can roll, you can live.

Being a squid is all fun and games until another squid comes along and inks you. This is the premise of Splatoon 3, especially in Turf War, the highly competitive 4v4 mode. But Splatoon 3 has given players more options for surviving against other players, such as the Squid Roll.

How to perform a Squid Roll in Splatoon 3

To perform a Squid Roll, you must be in your squid form and traveling through your team's ink. Once you reach max speed, flick the thumbstick in the opposite direction in which you were moving. If done correctly, your squid will perform a Squid Roll, leaping into the air and throwing itself backward, hopefully avoiding any enemy ink.

The timing on this can be tricky, so you shouldn't expect to be able to do it right away. We recommend heading into training mode and practicing this. Once you get this down, you will be able to perform it like it's second nature.

Implementing the Squid Roll into your movement is a great way to stay alive and avoid getting splatted. The longer you are on the stage, the more time you have to cover the ground and ink and give your allies a place to spawn.
