If you're mining away for resources on different planets but don't want to waste time manually transferring each item, you'll probably want to set up a Transfer Container at your outpost. Doing so will allow you to easily move the resources and items you need without having to exit your ship. Take a look at how you can get a Transfer Container and put it to good use below!

To start conveniently transferring cargo from your outpost to your ship, you'll first need to place a Transfer Container at your outpost. You can find it listed under Storage in the build menu.

Once you've located it, you'll need the following materials:

  • Tungsten x5
  • Iron x8
  • Lubricant x4

You can get these resources at different shops or by harvesting them yourself from different planets. Once your Transfer Container is built, you'll want to ensure you have a resource extractor outputting the resources to it.

In the build menu, switch to Modify mode, select your extractor, and then click on your Transfer Container. You should see the red line between them; it represents a link that puts all resources directly into your Transfer Container without you having to do it manually. You can also have it link from an extractor to a storage container to your Transfer Container like I did.

Now that there are resources filling up your Transfer Container, you should be able to transfer them over to your ship's Cargo Hold while you're onboard. To do this, first, make sure your ship has landed close to your outpost; the best way to do that is to build a Landing Pad, which can be found on the Misc. page of your build menu. Your ship will need to be close enough to your outpost for you to transfer.

Once your ship is close enough, you can head to your Cargo Hold storage right near the cockpit of your ship and open the Transfer menu. Then, switch to your outpost storage. The title of your outpost will be listed at the top (mine is Aluminum Allocations). From here, you'll be able to see all the resources currently stored in your Transfer Container and can choose to store them in your Cargo Hold.

Having a Transfer Container will save you some extra time harvesting and grabbing the resources you need from each planet or output. Instead, simply land near the outpost and instantly transfer the items you need to your ship Cargo Hold, which you can use to build, craft, or decorate no matter where you are.
